A new musical adaptation of “The Great Gatsby” is available for private reading

(NEW YORK, NY) — A 29-hour private reading of a new musical adaptation of The great gatsbywritten by the Tony Award-nominated musical duo of Nathan Tysen and Jason Howland (Paradise Square), with a book by Kait Kerrigan (Secrets) and directed by Mark Bruni (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical), which will be held tomorrow, Friday, May 20 in New York City.

Reading shows Jay Armstrong Johnson (In Town) in the title role of Jay Gatsby, and Noah J. Ricketts (Frozen), good phoenix (Hello Evan Hansen), Alysha Umphress (In Town), John Behlmann (Tootsie), Eric Anderson (Moulin Rouge!), Paul Whitty (Come from Away), and Grace Yoo (Hadestown), together with Milo Alosi, Tyrone Davis Jr., Victoria Huston-Elem, Danny Kornfeld, Elena Ricardo, Housso Semon, Yasmeen Sulieman, and Daniel Torres.

The event is presented by Chun-Soo Shin of OD Company, with music directed by Daniel Edmonds, stage managed by Brian Bogin, executive produced by Foresight Theatricals, with sound design by Brian Ronan, and Stephen Kopel threw.

Set in the Roaring Twenties, The great gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald is one of America’s most famous novels. It tells the story of Jay Gatsby, a millionaire, and his desperate pursuit of Daisy Buchanan, a wealthy young woman he fell in love with in his youth. This new musical brings lovers to life against the backdrop of a jazz and pop-infused score, bringing The Great Gatsby into the 21st century.

JASON HOWLAND (Music) is a composer, actor, director, music director, and producer. Broadway: Paradise Square (Tony’s Choice), Little Woman. In 2015, he won a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album for his work on the recording of the cast. Beautiful: The Carole King Musical.

KAITH KERRIGAN (Buka) is an award-winning poet, novelist, playwright. Off-Broadway: Secrets, Henry & Mudge. He wrote a book and songs for The Bad Years, Republic, Irenaand songs for Right (Arizona Museum Association 2021) Thank you (Or the importance of living), Rosie Revere, Engineer & Friend, and Earthrise. His games Father/daughter (world premiere at Aurora Theater Company 2021), Disaster Relief, Compassionate Compassiona Traveling. MARC BRUNI (Director) led to a Tony, Grammy, and Olivier Award winner Beautiful: The Carole King Musical on Broadway, in the West End, US/UK Tours, and in Australia, winning the Helpmann and Green Room Awards for Best Direction of a Musical.
