Book Review: “Stupid Little Beauty” by Jillian Cantor

Best-selling author Jillian Cantor has revised and expanded the classic “the great gatsby” in this atmospheric history. After the events of “The Great Gatsby,” The police of West Egg found a diamond hair near the million pool, accusing three women of killing Jay Gatsby and mechanic George Wilson.

Get personalized help downloading e-books, movies, music and more from Overdrive and Hoopla, two of the Lee County Library System’s two online streaming providers. Bring your full digital program for this hands-on session. Note: Please bring the passwords you need to download the apps. Kindle users need an Amazon account and their password to log in.

Knit and Stitch

A self-directed group of knitters and crocheters who come together to share projects, ideas and techniques. Participants are encouraged to bring their own projects and materials. Original and new equipment available.

Pearl Necklace

Create a unique necklace with a stunning ocean view. This program is designed for ages 18 and up. Registration is required.

Library Youth Talk

2 pm Tuesday, Aug. 16, 23

High school students are invited to the library for weekly discussions about current events, daily life, library resources and more. Young people will be encouraged to submit an answer to a question each week while interacting and making new friends.

Game Day

Tuesday, Aug. 30

4:30 pm – Middle School

Play board games, video games, card games and more on the library. Youngsters are invited to join us for fun, games and socializing with friends after school.
